Calling all high school artists! Whether you’re planning to apply to an art college or simply curious about careers in the creative world, this 4-session summer series is designed to help you grow your portfolio and expand your understanding of what’s possible with a future in the arts.
Led by illustrator and designer Hannah Harder, a MICA alum and practicing creative professional, students will gain firsthand insight into what it’s really like to study and work in the arts. Hannah brings both technical guidance and real-world experience to help young artists feel confident and prepared for what’s next.
Through a mix of guided discussion, personal art-making, and one-on-one feedback, students will learn how to:
Build a strong portfolio with tips on what to include and how to present their work professionally
Explore various art majors and creative career paths — from illustration and animation to fine arts and design
Understand what to expect during the foundation year in art school
Develop their personal style and improve sketchbook practice
Receive personalized portfolio reviews and support
Perfect for students currently in (or considering) AP Art or anyone exploring creative college programs.
Each class includes dedicated time for portfolio development, personalized feedback, and a supportive, studio-style environment where students can create and grow.
